Clinical studies on collagen peptides show positive results for skin and beauty with a daily intake of 2.5–10 grams, taken consistently over 8–12 weeks.

The most common servings used in research are 2.5 g, 5 g, or 10 g – all shown to be effective. In general, higher amounts give stronger or faster results, but even smaller daily servings have documented benefits.

The collagen in our products is hydrolyzed Type I fish collagen, but what exactly does 'hydrolyzed' mean?

When collagen is extracted from fish, it is usually in a long, complex structure. These larger proteins need to be digested before they can be absorbed and become bioavailable in the body.

When such a large protein is hydrolyzed, it is 'cut' using enzymatic processes to chop it into smaller particles, making it biologically active. This means it is better absorbed into the body.

Our collagen products contain vitamin C from acerola.

Traditionally, collagen supplements use bovine (cows) and porcine (pigs) as collagen sources. Marine Collagen is a type I collagen with a higher absorption capability up to 1.5 times more than bovine and porcine collagen.

Type 1 Collagen is similar to the collagen structure naturally available in the body and making it readily available to the body once consumed.

As we age, our collagen production decreases 1 to 1.5% every year after early adulthood around the age of 25. However, natural aging is just one factor that can cause collagen production to decline.

Other factors include:

• Lifestyle factors such as diet, smoking and stress
• Excessive sun exposure (photoaging of skin)
• Individual genetic factors
